Welcome to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church



St. Peter’s is a church where families, and people of all ages and backgrounds come together to worship, learn, grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.
General Information

Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church was the first church established in the town of Lonaconing, Maryland being founded on November 2, 1839. The current building was constructed in 1859 where there was formally a log building.

We are a parish within the Maryland Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Church USA and a part of the Anglican Communion.

Our services are held on Sunday @ 9:00 am.



From Interstate 68 heading either East or West:

Get off at exit 34 towards Frostburg – Westernport.

Head towards Westernport via Route 36 (From the East go left after exit ramp, from the West go right).

After about 5 miles (and after going through Midland and Gilmore) you enter Lonaconing.

After passing the “Coney Grocery” and a sign for “Dan’s Mountain State Park” on your left, you will cross a very tall brick bridge.

IMMEDIATELY after crossing the bridge make the right onto St. Peter’s Place.

You will easily see the white church on your right, at the corner of Route 36 and Saint Peter’s Place we have the big red doors please come and be welcome.
